Meals from the Heartland Service Project Update

Grand View University Welcomes LCMC for Called 2 Serve Youth Event

LWR Service Project Update

As many of you know, we will be teaming up with Lutheran World Relief during our 2016 Annual Gathering in Denver, CO to help assemble personal care kits for people who are victims of natural disasters.  Our goal for this project is to raise $50,000 to help participants at the event assemble 10,000 kits.  As of today, we have officially raised $43,750 in donations to help cover the cost of supplies for this project.  If ... Service Project Update: Lutheran World Relief and Meals from the Heartland

Over the past few years, "service" has become a central part of our Annual Gatherings.  In 2014, we packaged almost 300,000 meals with Meals from the Heartland and raised over $90,000 to do so.  Last year, we donated just over 160 pints of blood to a local blood bank in Texas.  This year, we will be working with Lutheran World Relief to help assemble personal care kits at the Annual Gathering, and participants at our ... Service: A Central Part of Our Gatherings!

Dear Friends, “Service” is becoming a central part of our gatherings! This year for our Called 2 Serve youth event, which takes place July 19-22 at Grand View University in Des Moines, one of the service projects is again working with Meals from the Heartland.
