Lutheran World Relief Service Project Update

At our 2016 Annual Gathering in Denver, Colorado, we partnered with Lutheran World Relief to assemble 8,228 personal care kits for people in need.  The staff of LCMC has received an update from Lutheran World Relief that the kits we packaged have been shipped to Angola on March 28, 2017 and should be arriving within the next four months.  Lutheran World Relief will be working with Hope for Angola to ensure that the ... LWR Service Project Update

As many of you know, we will be teaming up with Lutheran World Relief during our 2016 Annual Gathering in Denver, CO to help assemble personal care kits for people who are victims of natural disasters.  Our goal for this project is to raise $50,000 to help participants at the event assemble 10,000 kits.  As of today, we have officially raised $43,750 in donations to help cover the cost of supplies for this project.  If ... Service Project Update: Lutheran World Relief and Meals from the Heartland

Over the past few years, "service" has become a central part of our Annual Gatherings.  In 2014, we packaged almost 300,000 meals with Meals from the Heartland and raised over $90,000 to do so.  Last year, we donated just over 160 pints of blood to a local blood bank in Texas.  This year, we will be working with Lutheran World Relief to help assemble personal care kits at the Annual Gathering, and participants at our ... Service: A Central Part of Our Gatherings!

Dear Friends, “Service” is becoming a central part of our gatherings! This year for our Called 2 Serve youth event, which takes place July 19-22 at Grand View University in Des Moines, one of the service projects is again working with Meals from the Heartland. Our DNA: Sunday and Monday Recap

Blood Drive Sign-Up Now Open!

This year, we will be hosting a blood drive with Carter Blood Care as our service project during the Annual Gathering.  Appointments for donating blood are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and available from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 5th and Tuesday, October 6th. 2015 Seminarian Retreat Registration Now Open!

LCMC Forms Prayer Ministry Team

A prayer ministry team has been formed and is active!  At our last Annual Gathering, I made an invitation to sign up for a prayer ministry team, and we now have over 50 people who are praying each week for LCMC congregations.  Cheryl Coffman is the leader of this team and she is looking for others who may also be interested joining.
