Those who wish to serve as chaplains in military service must have the endorsement of their national religious body indicating that they meet its requirements for ministry and that they can qualify for military service according to the regulations of the branch to which they are applying.   In his role as Chaplain Endorser for LCMC, Tim interviews applicants, ascertains their qualifications and submits to the Chiefs of Chaplains the paperwork for endorsement as LCMC military chaplains, or declines to endorse.  He also serves as a liaison between LCMC and the Chaplain Service of each military branch.

Tim attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, was ordained in 1985, and currently serves as Senior Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska.  Prior to Seminary he was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and following graduation he accepted an appointment as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserve, retiring in 2000 after 22 years of military service.

Tim and his wife, Cindy, were married in 1972.  They have two grown daughters and five grandchildren.  Tim enjoys hunting and shooting sports, reading and growing tomatoes (he doesn’t have a full-sized garden, so . . . just tomatoes).   Tim and Cindy enjoy traveling, family gatherings and NFL football (she – Vikings; he – Packers).    Somehow they make it work!
