    First St. Paul's (FSP) Lutheran Church is located in Hastings, NE. We are 2 1/2 hours west of Omaha.

    Our mission is "United, we live God's will." We are prayerfully seeking an individual called to Children and Family Ministry. Opportunity for seminary support, continuing education or internship credit is a possiblity. Approximately 25 - 30 hours a week.

    Summary:

    Responsible for formulation, implementation and operation of FSP Children’s and Family Ministry, working alongside Children’s Committee, Staff and Volunteers to promote excellence in Children’s and Family Ministry.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Prays for the congregation and ministry of the church
    • Attendance on Sunday mornings (not to exceed 6 absences in calendar year)
    • Attendance at Wednesday night activities
    • Promotes educational programs of FSP through relationships with children and families
    • Advocates for Children and Family Ministry at worship, providing Children’s Messages and consistently sharing the vision of Children and Family Ministry in worship
    • Works with Children’s Committee in development of all Children and Family Ministry programs
    • Works with Children’s Committee to prepare and distribute annual budget
    • Works with Children’s Committee to create new opportunities for Children and Families
    • Works with VBS Team and volunteers to develop, plan and carry out VBS outreach
    • Works alongside volunteers to develop, plan and carry out quarterly family events to build and encourage family discipleship, as well as classes in the Christian Life Cycle
    • Recruit, supervise and develop training for pre-k – 6th grade Children’s Ministry volunteers, including Sunday School, Wednesday Night Ichthus and VBS
    • Serves as a resource to volunteers for Sunday morning and Wednesday Night Ichthus
    • Attends appropriate planning meetings and Wednesday staff meetings
    • Attends monthly Children and Family Committee and Council meetings
    • Utilizes social media platforms to share information, news and ministry updates
    • Maintains database of contact information for children ages 0 – 12, in coordination with office staff
    • Develops and maintains system for care and regular contact with children and families
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or designee

    Education & Experience

    Experienced Ministry Director or Educator preferred

    Supervisory experience strongly preferred

    Commitment to Continuing Education in field
