2011 Impact: National Youth Event
July 7-10, 2011
Hosted by Youth Encounter
Naperville, IL
Youth Encounter, a Christian non-profit youth ministry organization, announces their four day national youth event called Impact from July 7-10, 2011, in Chicago, Illinois. The event is for high school students that have completed grades 8-12 in the United States and Canada.
Impact's emphasis is equipping young people to live out their faith in Jesus Christ. Dr. Larry Johnson, President of Youth Encounter, explained that "First and foremost, the purpose of the event is to effectively proclaim Jesus Christ to young people as Savior and Lord so that they might be transformed to live lives of service for Him. Furthermore, the intent is to offer an event that equips congregations to strengthen their ministry to, with, and through young people in their daily lives."
The program includes messages from Christian speakers, worship led by nationally-known Christian bands, workshops, family time for each church group, and a service project with Feed My Starving Children. Partnering with ministry organizations to offer workshops connects congregations with a variety of resources for their ongoing ministry.
"Youth Encounter events have always been focused on encouraging youth and adult leaders to go deeper in their faith in Jesus Christ," said Lisa Rykken Kastler, Program Executive of Youth Encounter. "Youth and leaders gather with other church groups as they worship, fellowship and serve as a larger community of Christ. Getting away from every day life and journeying in Jesus' name to a new place are shared experiences that God uses to draw people together as He draws them deeper in their faith."
Impact will be held at the Holiday Inn Select in Naperville, IL. The event runs Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon. Program fees start at $189 per person and hotel rooms are $85 per room per night. For more information on Impact go to www.youthencounter.org/impact.
