Our 2018 Service Project And How You Can Help

Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ will once again be teaming up with Meals from the Heartland to help feed the hungry at both our Called 2 Follow youth event and our 18th Annual Gathering

When we hosted our 2014 Annual Gathering in Des Moines, we raised over $90,000 and packaged almost 300,000 meals with Meals from The Heartland.  (Watch a video of the experience here!)

In 2016, we worked with Meals from the Heartland at our Called 2 Serve youth event, raising $48,000 and packaging 80,000 meals.

Our goal for 2018 is to raise $100,000 for supplies and package 400,000 meals between the two events.

Whether or not you are planning to attend either event, please consider how you might be able to help contribute to this goal (but please consider attending one or both events — it is the best way to be a part of what the Spirit is doing in LCMC)!

If you'd like to volunteer to help out with this project at either event, you may sign-up by checking off the appropriate checkbox on your registration form for either event.  (If you'd like to be notified when Annual Gathering registration is officially open, be sure to opt-in for Annual Gathering notifications in our mobile app [here's how].)

If you'd like to make a donation towards this project, you may do so online by clicking here, or by mailing a check to the LCMC office.

Please make all checks payable to LCMC and be sure to indicate that your payment is intended for the "Meals from the Heartland Service Project".  All donations received with this notation will go towards purchasing supplies for this project. Mail checks to:

7000 North Sheldon Road

We'll be making updates on our progress for this project periodically via our blog and Facebook page, so stay tuned!
