St. John's Lutheran Church Ordains Rev. Charles Stevenson
Rev. Charles Stevenson was ordained at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peabody, MA, on September 26.
Pastor Ray Phyles presided. Pastor Norm David delivered the sermon.
Pastor Charles was raised in southeast Michigan. He has a PhD in electrical engineering and two divinity degrees from Yale University. He is a professor of computer science at Salem State University (SSU), Salem, MA.
He looks forward to the challenges of a “tent-making” ministry at St. John, where he will combine teaching/mentoring students at SSU with ministering to his congregation and conducting outreach programs to the North Shore Community.
He and his wife, Joni, have four children: Ian, Colleen, Hannah and Keely.
