Communications & Public Relations
Kristy Thomas is the Communications and Public Relations Specialist for LCMC. Kristy designs graphics and printed materials, creates videos and presentations, and manages the LCMC blog, e-newsletter and social media pages. She also works with the other LCMC staff members to help coordinate events and create training and ministry resources for pastors and congregations.
Although Kristy has always held an interest in The Arts, it wasn't until winning her high school's journalism award at graduation that she seriously considered the idea of pursuing a career in writing or art. During college, Kristy interned as a writer at CBS Radio, worked at The Henry Ford Museum, and taught swimming and synchronized swimming classes at a local community pool. After earning her degree in Print Journalism, Electronic Media Production and Anthropology from The University of Michigan, she took additional courses in drawing, graphic design, theatrical makeup, and web programming. She supervised library workers and taught computer skills to students at Henry Ford Community College until joining the staff of LCMC full-time.
In her spare time, Kristy enjoys working on art projects, playing musical instruments, collecting antiques, designing her own Halloween decorations, and doing theatrical makeup. She also enjoys staying active by rowing, running, swimming, cycling, and hiking with her dog.
