Interim Ministry

During a pastoral transition, LCMC congregations often seek out interim pastors who can assist them during a time of change.  Commitments range from a few hours and a few weeks or months, to full-time and twelve months. LCMC maintains a list of pastors willing to serve the association in this capacity. 

Interim Ministry encompasses pastors identified as Interim Ministers and Intentional Interim Ministers, those with further training in transition processes. Please see the Interim Ministry Styles handout for more information on the differences.

For Pastors:

If you are a pastor who would consider such ministry, please review the Interim Ministry Policy and then fill out the Interim Ministry Application. The Ministry Board will be in contact with you. If you have questions regarding interim ministry, contact Rev. Ed Thomas, Ministry Board liaison, or Rev. Christian Huntley, LCMC Associate Service Coordinator.  

For Congregations:

Congregations seeking an interim pastor, please review the information above or in the Call Packet. When you are ready, contact Cathy Nichol at cathy@lcmc.net or (734) 788-7476 to receive a list of those who have identified themselves as available for interim ministry, or they may check out our Retired and Emeritus Pastors lists; perhaps one of them in your area can help.
