United Emmanuel Lutheran Church is placed in the beautiful country-side of western Kansas. Surrounded by prime hunting ground for waterfowl, deer, turkey and pheasant. Our parsonage has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full basement with lots of room. It's furnished with all the major appliances and has central heat and air. There is a detatched 2 car garage, a patio and big yard as well.
We are a mixed age group of people who range from 1 to 92. Most of the congregation is tied to the agriculture or oil industry. On Sunday mornings we have around 12 kids and 10 adults for Sunday school and about 35-40 people at the service. We are a very relaxed, welcoming congregation and are known for the best potluck dinners around!
We disaffiliated from the ELCA in July of 2019 and joined the LCMC in September of 2019. We have been without a pastor since January of 2019. She left to take another call, but was pushing some of the ELCA agenda before she left. This caused some turmoil within our congregation and have lost members due to this conflict.
Our goals for moving forward, with an Intentional Interim Minister's help, is to heal from our past and grow our ministry. As we move from ELCA to LCMC, we would like to establish ourselves with a new constitution and bylaws so we can start fresh. We are looking for someone to serve us that might be willing to be bi-vocational or part time until our congregation can grow stronger to support a full time minister. There are many job opportunities within a 30 mile radius of the parsonage.
