Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church is located in Dallastown, PA, a small town in the Southern Tier of our state, approximately 2 hours west of Philadelphia and 4 hours east of Pittsburgh. Baltimore, MD is an hour south of Dallastown, and Washington DC is 2 hours south. Gettysburg, PA, home of the famous Civil War battlefield, is 45 minutes to our west. The closest airports are Harrisburg and Baltimore.
Founded in 1854, we are an active congregation of 130 families. In 1971, we opened a PA Department of Education licensed Day Care ministry that currently serves 126 children, 5 days a week. Our Day Care recently received the Keystone STAR 4 rating, the highest quality rating available.
We are seeking to call a full time, resident pastor. Our previous pastor of 18 years served through April 1, 2018. At the suggestion from Pastor Mark Vander Tuig, LCMC’s Service Coordinator, we formed a Transition Team to contract with an intentional interim pastor. We are currently being well served by that decision and our intentional interim pastor. Our relationship with our LCMC Association is important to us.
It is the church’s intention to call a full-time resident co-pastor. It is the church’s desire to have a pastor with at least 5 years experience in pastoring and a Master of Divinity degree from a certified seminary. The church owns a parsonage directly adjacent to the church which will be available to a called pastor.
We are also served by a part time co-pastor, who leads our active family and youth ministries. We are looking for God’s answer to our prayers and have been praying that someone’s heart will be open to serving His congregation in Dallastown, PA.
Our Mission is strengthening individuals and families as we experience together the Promise and the Power of God's Love.
