    Living Word Lutheran Church is known in Northwest Arkansas as the "Small Church with a Big Heart." The congregation was formed in 2010 in Rogers, Arkansas. Currently we have twenty-eight member families and average thirty-five individuals (pre-Covid) for worship. Our congregation is lay-led, presently supporting one international and three community-based missions, all completely in the hands of capable church members. Aside from financial support, many of our members are directly involved in providing volunteer hours to our missions. We meet in the beautiful Rogers Seventh-day Adventist sanctuary on Sunday mornings, a day when their congregation does not hold services. Our partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist church has allowed us to remain financially unburdened.

    For seven years, our ministry was led by a retired LCMC pastor. We were then served by a NALC pastor from 2017 until 2020 when he needed to return to help with his mother's care out of state. Currently we have as interim, a retired NALC pastor who lives in Northwest Arkansas. We are a welcoming congregation that practices open communion, has a blended worship style, and believes that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will give us the ability to bring the Kingdom of God into our community and our world.

    We are seeking a part-time pastor who will lead worship, teach Sunday Bible study, call on members and prospective members, and do pastoral care. It is important that our pastor shares our emphasis on Biblical principles, believes and teaches that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and has a vision for missions. Living Word has no debt, our giving exceeds our budget, and our excess at the end of our fiscal year is rolled back into the missions we support. We are a congregation that has had no conflict since our inception and we recognize that we are blessed to be able to worship and serve together.

    Rogers, a city of 68,000, is located in the progressive northwest corner of Arkansas, just miles from the Missouri and Oklahoma borders. It is part of a larger area referred to as Northwest Arkansas (NWA) which has a population of 546,400. This part of the Ozarks has a mixture of light industry, agriculture and retail and is home to Walmart, Tyson Foods, JB Hunt Transportation, and the University of Arkansas. In addition, NWA offers many cultural and recreational advantages including Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Walmart AMP (Arkansas Music Pavillion), Walton Arts Center, numerous golf courses, Beaver Lake (487 miles of shoreline), and extensive hike and bike trails which connect a great portion of Northwest Arkansas. Rogers New Technology High School is ranked 5th in the state by US News and World Report. In addition to many young families in the area, NWA has a sizeable retirement community, as well.
