Description: St. John Lutheran Church, Boerne, TX—Seeking an Associate Pastor
St. John, founded in 1929, has a traditional and conservative background. We are a thriving congregation of generous givers , affording us a strong financial position. We currently have a staff of 22 people. St. John is Christ-centered and Biblically grounded in orthodox Lutheran values and beliefs. Two traditional worship services (the later service online), along with one Praise service are offered each Sunday. Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday at each service. Sunday School is available for children and adults, and several Bible studies and fellowship activities are offered throughout the week. Our church is also very involved in mission and outreach activities.
Boerne (pronounced Bur-nee) is located in one of Texas’ most beautiful regions, the Texas Hill Country. Listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as one of the country’s fastest-growing regions, the area’s rapid expansion has meant numerous new housing subdivisions as well as an influx of industry, business, and tourism. Boerne is situated 25 miles northwest of San Antonio, the seventh largest city in the nation, which has an international airport, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and numerous concert and museum venues. Boerne’s historic downtown offers quaint shops with antique and eclectic shopping. The small-town charm with easy access to big-city amenities and conveniences makes Boerne an attractive place to live, work, and play. Enormously important within the ranks of the city’s population is its volunteerism. Citizens selflessly donate hours to religious, social, educational, environmental, political, and historical causes.
