Flood Relief in Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska

Record rainfall and record snowfall, all coming together on frozen ground, has made for one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit western Iowa and eastern Nebraska.

Some of the communities became islands, river beds have been changed, roads have been washed out, and thousands of tons of sand now cover rich, black farmland.  The flood waters are now receding but there is much work ahead.

If you have been wondering how you can help, Lutheran Church of the Master (Omaha, NE), Thanksgiving Lutheran Church (Bellevue, NE), Spirit of Peace Church (Valley, NE), and the Heartland District of LCMC are all working to help with flood recovery and providing needed supplies.

If you are interested in contributing, please contact one of these congregations first to find out what they are collecting.  You can find their contact information here on our website at www.lcmc.net.
