Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief

Turkey and Syria earthquake relief

The devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6 displaced millions and the death toll is still rising – currently numbering more than 50,000. In Turkey alone, more than 345,000 apartments were destroyed. Many are wondering how to provide some assistance, with the scope of the disaster so broad that help is still needed, and will be for a long time.

ALWM has known and trusted connections in the region. Our ALWM Midwest representatives, Pastor Paul & Lea Eldred, were EEMN missionaries in Turkey from 2005-2017 while I was Director, and they still have good contacts there. I also know and trust these partners in ministry.

We have relationship with a ministry that has been working on the ground since day 1 doing critical relief including temp housing, food, medical care and more. Another partner there is focused on providing large (approx. 20 x 10), sturdy tents for $700 each that will house a family.

If you or your congregation want to help, please earmark your check for Turkey Relief and mail it to:

PO Box 67432
Albuquerque, NM 87193-7432

We will be splitting support received between these two partners, and will of course honor donor intent with any gift. One congregation in northern KS has already raised over $800!

Once again, we know and trust both relief pathways, thankful too, that they will share the Gospel and the love of Christ in addition to providing desperately needed help.

If you have any questions, please call or write.
